Grateful to be Playing in the Coliseum

Undefeated American Martyrs and Undefeated Harry Bridges to Decide FIYA Championship on Sunday

Thanksgiving Weekend 2015 takes on added meaning for the school communities of Orchard Academy of Bell, Frank Parent of Inglewood, Harry Bridges of Wilmington and American Martyrs of Manhattan Beach as those four schools will play on the hallowed field of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sunday November 29 in the FIYA Flag Football Division 1 Championship.  Orchard Academy and Frank Parent will play at approximately 10:30 am in the 3rd place game followed by Harry Bridges and American Martyrs in the championship game.  Both games should be filled with excitement, athleticism and ingenious coaching.
The Coliseum entrance gate 3960 will open Sunday morning at 930 am.  This is the entrance that leads to the playing field through the tunnel.  At 10 am, FIYA will hold a Field Goal Kicking Contest for any students in grades 8 and below who wish to enter.  Players will kick off of a tee and will continue to advance as long as they make a field goal.  There are two parking lots adjacent to the Coliseum (Lot 1 and Lot 2).  To get to Lots 1 and 2, from Figueroa Street, head WEST on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.   You should pass Hoover and the next street is Robertson Lane.   Turn RIGHT.   Once you turn RIGHT on Robertson, Lot 1 is immediately on your left.  After you pass the soccer field, Lot 2 is on your left as well.  Tickets will be available at the entrance at $10 per spectator.
