As part of a strong end to the season, St. Mark defeated New West en route to a second place finish. But beating a quality team twice is a tall task, especially when that team is the defending FIYA soccer champions. New West showed their championship pedigree in taking an early one goal lead, and after adding a second score strong goaltending allowed New West to hold off St. Mark and take their second consecitive title.
On the boys side, Monroe got off to a strong start, taking a 3-0 lead over LA Alliance #7. But no team makes it to the finals without talent and determination, and LA Alliance #7 showed both in fighting to get back in the game. They closed the gap to 4-2, but Monroe proved too much in the end and took home the championship.
Congratulations to all four teams on great seasons.
Monroe - Boys Champions
LA Alliance #7 - Boys Second Place
