FIYA 2022 SOCCER PLAYOFFS
It’s official! The 2022 FIYA Soccer season has come to an end which closes out another awesome school year of sports for us at FIYA. We’d like to give a big thank you to all our participating schools and host schools for joining us for our first year back and making it such a success. It was a joy and a privilege to see all our students return to the playing field and we already can’t wait for for next year. Congratulations to our 2022 Champions and all our finalists on an incredible season!
BOYS D-1 CHAMPIONS:

On Wednesday, June 8th our 2022 Soccer Championships kicked off with our Boys D-1 final matchup between Culver City Middle School and Mark Twain Middle School. Culver City was able to snatch an early 1-0 lead but that didn’t stop Mark Twain from putting up a huge fight, keeping the game exhilarating and inspiring. Both teams played with beautiful technicality, control, discipline, and strategy. We’d like to congratulate both teams on a well-played match on the pitch and for their successful seasons!

On Wednesday, June 8th, Mark Twain Middle School and New West Charter took the stage for the 2022 FIYA D-1 Girls Soccer Championship at Culver City High School. A nail-biter from the start, these girls truly laid it all out on the field. In a neck-to-neck matchup between two talented teams, we started the 2nd half 0-0. Shortly after, New West clinched the first goal of the game that fueled their momentum until the final whistle. Both teams played with such tenacity, perseverance, and grit that both Mark Twain and New West should be equally proud!

Animo Legacy
Last but not least of our 2022 Soccer Championships, our Boys D-1A finalists finished off our 2022-23 school year with an epic battle of LA between Animo Legacy and CNCA Kayne Siart. The crowd showed it all. These two teams AND their school communities showed up and showed out in an impressive fight for the 2022 title. Tied up for most of the 1st half, neither team was ready to give up the first goal. But just when we thought it’d be another game to PKs, CNCA Kayne Siart pulled away with a 1-0 lead before the half that changed the direction of the game for good. That lead gave them the push they needed and ignited the fire that would win them the game but not without a huge, courageous effort from Animo Legacy.
Both teams not only deserve a congratulations for their successful seasons, but also a thank you for the amazing sportsmanship and unifying love for the game that was displayed both on and off the field. We’re proud of you both!

GENERAL LEAGUE INFO
FIYA Soccer is a league event that occur over an 8 to 10-week period involving a regular season league schedule with playoffs to follow (for qualifying Division 1 teams only). For more general FAQ on FIYA league events including our operations, costs, and requirements, please visit the link below.
SEASON DATES & TIMES
Our Soccer season typically takes place between March and May with Soccer playoffs to follow late May to early June. Games take place on weekdays (Monday-Friday) after school between the hours of 4PM and 7PM (start times). Tentative dates for our 2023 Soccer season are now posted to prepare for next school year!

LEAGUE LOCATIONS
FIYA organizes its leagues geographically - we group school teams together based on their physical location in order to minimize travel. League events are also centralized which means our games occur at a location in that league's region which hosts multiple games per day. HOSTING FIYA LEAGUE EVENTS
If your school has a field, we can schedule games so that your school team has home games as long as the centralized model is adopted. FIYA also substantially discounts a hosting school's registration fee based on the number of hours of FIYA games hosted.
