Four very solid teams entered the final four of the Division 1A volleyball championship with aspirations of taking home the championship hardware. In the first semi-final, a boisterous WISH crowd propelled the Owls to a victory over New West in two sets. In the second semi-final, Wilders Prep defeated The City School in two sets as well behind a very supportive crowd as well.
Earbuds were a must as both WISH and Wilders Prep played a spirited match with several extended rallies that caused many a man, woman and child to have ringing ears and sore hands. Both teams played hard and showed incredible athleticism and determination. Wilders went on a hot serving streak and that carried them to a first set victory 25-22. In the second set, Wilders continued with some great serves to jump to an early lead but WISH got refocused after a timeout and went on a run of their own to take a 21-16 lead. The Lady Eagles did not falter but made some key hits and then their serving took over again to win the second set 25-23 for the Division 1A Championship.
